Health Management introduces ‘Pay-as-you-go’ services for SMEs
In recent weeks, the UK Government has recognised the importance of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) having access to effective occupational health (OH) support.
It revealed that SMEs are 80 per cent less likely to offer workplace health advice and interventions to their employees.
We are now meeting this requirement with the introduction of a range of ‘Pay-as-you-go’ occupational health services, intended to provide high-quality OH provision to small and medium-sized businesses who are unable to subscribe to contracted services.
The service provides a quick and seamless user experience, allowing managers to refer employees and pay for OH services online.
These include support for common workplace health complaints such as musculoskeletal problems and mental health conditions.
Dr Mark Simpson, our Chief Medical Officer, said:
“While businesses of all sizes have experienced increased demand for occupational health support during the pandemic, many smaller businesses have been struggling to survive, and have therefore been unable to take on an additional financial burden. Our ‘Pay-as-you-go’ service is a potential lifeline – allowing smaller firms to easily access OH services as and when they’re required, without the need for an ongoing financial commitment”.
Managing Director Matt Wood added:
“Currently, we provide high-quality contract workforce health services to more than 400 businesses - supporting more than 2.25m employees in the UK. By providing this new service, SME businesses can access the same high-quality service as and when they need it.”
In addition to the pay-as-you-go service, we also recently expanded our suite of mental health training courses, with the introduction of a new Mental Health First Aid Refresher course - designed to enhance employee knowledge with new insights in the field of mental health.
