Giving back to the communities we serve

At Health Management, a MAXIMUS company, we are committed to supporting our employees to engage in charitable activities as individuals and as teams.

Recent examples of activities our employees have organised or participated in include:

500km Challenge for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund

Following the devastating bombing attack in Manchester in May 2017, the team at our Altrincham office wanted to do something to give back to the city that they love. Many of our colleagues were affected by the event.

Everyone took part on a “tag team” basis over a 12 hour period between 9am – 9pm. The fitter and the keener amongst them went along during the day and then also returned in the evening. There were even kilometers donated by colleagues around the UK.

The local Sports Direct Gym offered their facilities free of charge and supported the effort by having collection buckets available during the challenge.

On what was the hottest day of 2017, in the end the team completed a massive 622.5kms and raised just over £900.

Employee Volunteering

Each employee is entitled to take one paid volunteer day a year to support a charitable event or ‘give back’ to the local community. Examples have included providing “helping hands” at lunches organised for local senior residents and volunteering at a local hospice.

Charitable Activities

As well as supporting the MAXIMUS Foundation, we also sponsor employees when they complete a ‘challenge’ for a registered charity. Our employees have abseiled down the Forth Bridge, spent a night ‘on the streets’ to support homelessness, run ‘tough mudders’ and attended Zumba-thons all for good causes!

We also give to charities as a result of site events such as Macmillan Coffee mornings and Red Nose Day where we match funds for the cause.
